awesome watch September 9, 2010 ohrville culata this is my first casio watch. I ordered this watch through amazon and I shipped it to my home address in the US. My dad send this watch through balikbayan box here in the philippines. it took me more tha a month before I got this watch. I bought this watch for mountaineering here in the philippines. My only complain about this watch is you cant use all the features here in the phillippines but all in all its amazing watch. what you see is what you get
Fantastic Watch September 7, 2010 Robin Hood (Adelaide, SA Australia) I purchased this watch five months ago after looking at hundreds of watches on Amazon.com. I needed a watch to take on vacation and for camping and this watch looked ideal. The watch face is very big but if you have a large wrist like me it won't look too big on your wrist. The watch is surprisingly light for it's size. The black colour looks great. At first I thought it might be difficult to read the time with the reverse lcd but in direct sunlight it was very easy. The only minor problem I have with the watch is the light only stays on for one second which is not a big problem it just means pressing the light button a few times until you have read the time.
Why I love my Casio Men's PAW1500Y-1 Pathfinder Multi-Band Solar Atomic Digital Watch August 24, 2010 Andrew R. Robinson Looking..for a watch that would capture my attention with appeal and style I noticed the PAW1500Y-1..etc. Not only was I searching for a watch that was innovative and impressive but it had to be an extension of my desire to be an invention that would be an bench mark in digital watches for the cosmopolitan consumer. Thankyou. Yours sincerely, Andrew R. Robinson I.
Weak Strap July 29, 2010 M. Latiff Nice watch but the strap doesn't compliment the watch. the strap is too thin and doesn't make the watch sit on your wrist well.
Alarm is too quiet to wake you up July 27, 2010 wks This watch looks great and has many interesting features, but the alarm is too soft to be easily audible, certainly not loud enough to wake you up, and this is, to me, an essential watch function. (The Casio PAW1500Y-1 alarm is certainly much softer than the Casio TS-100 I have been using to wake me up for close to 20 years - this pre-G-Shock model has kept time to within 20 secs/month and weathered 3 batteries and 4 band replacements, so I am loyal to Casio quality).
I like all the other features and they work well, but the barometer requires regular calibration to be useful. Since the altimeter depends on it, as the weather changes the altitude measurement goes up and down. This is fine for a pilot, who would calibrate the altimeter before take-off, but I live where (Vietnam), getting a calibration reading would require having my own barometer handy, and I certainly won't have one when I am traveling. Temperature measurement is only accurate with the watch off, which is not convenient. Unlike my old Casio TS-100, there is no on-the-arm setting (though the temp readings on this old model were never especially accurate).
Very cool watch, the PAW1500Y-1, but not practical enough for me.
